Well it’s official! For the first time ever PowerFilm has launched a direct to consumer sales channel with the launch of an e-commerce website. The site will be used exclusively for the sale of solar charging kits for golf/ electric cars and for RVs. The new site offers consumers the opportunity to buy the kits directly from PowerFilm at very competitive prices. The easy do-it-yourself installation of both products made the golf and RV kits perfect candidates to sell directly.
The golf industry has increasingly made the move to use electric carts on courses around the country. The use of electric carts has also increased in the private market as well. This move to a more environmentally friendly mode of transportation has also uncovered some challenges for the user as well. Our solar kits address many of those challenges, increasing the distance a golf cart will travel on one charge, reducing the depth of discharge in the batteries (tests have told us this increases the life of the batteries), and lowers the cost of charging cart batteries overnight. Battery life in golf carts varies greatly and replacing those batteries is an expensive proposition, not to mention the environmental impact of disposing of dead batteries, our charging kits has a positive impact on both and now it’s even easier to “go solar” with the creation of our new site. In the RV industry solar has long been a great idea. Traditional solar options for RVs have always been subject to some issues that PowerFilm technology does not. For instance, shadows.
